Overview[]
Willy Gaile, better known by his T.O.X.I.N. operative name "Whirlwind" is an elemental telekinetic trained by telekinetic wind mercenaries in an enclave outside of Chicago.
Early Life[]
Willy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1969. He excelled in many track and field sports like javelin and shot put. His parents, Gary and Jill Gaile, sent him to post-secondary school at the University of America, Fargo once he graduated from Winnipeg Prep. But everything changed when the Iridium Comet passed through the Solar System, giving Willy telekinetic powers.
The Telekinetic War[]
As a powerful telekinetic, Willy was scouted by the Wind Warriors, to be trained in the ancient art of wind manipulation. His powers grew exponentially, to the point where some of his gusts could even trap light in their vortex. The Wind Warriors pillaged the rural areas of northern Indiana and parts of Michigan, but as the war was coming to an end, the Commonwealth Resistance Coalition put a stop to their shenanigans and Willy was out of a job.
T.O.X.I.N.[]
In 1993, Willy was contacted via fax by none other than General Marcus Blight, who pitched Willy with the idea of joining him in a new initiative: T.O.X.I.N. Because Willy's telekinetic powers did not leave him after the comet exited the Solar System he could still summon the powers of the wind. Willy joined Blight with the hopes of getting rich.
One of Blight's most successful ventures was selling cigarettes to middle-schoolers, so he sent Willy, now called "Whirlwind", to steal all the contacts at Tidge Dipper Junior High in Championopolis. Unfortunately for Willy, Deutsch was working late that night and stopped him in his tracks with his own psychic powers.
Sparkle's Demise[]
During the assault on a T.O.X.I.N. safehouse, John Carbon and Ricky Blaze came to blows with Whirlwind. The battle was all but won by Whirlwind, until Deutsch arrived to snap his neck like a twig.
Since he had his neck broken, Willy has retired as a T.O.X.I.N. operative, choosing to spend more time with his wife and children.
